About Us

Born and raised 4th generation McKenzies in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. I grew up in a large outfitting family along with eight siblings, spending most of my youth in the Rocky Mountains, learning the business from my parents and older siblings.

At a later point in life, I became part owner of the business. Guiding fall hunting trips, summer pack trips and through winter and spring looking after 100 head of cattle is where I was able to average 2500 miles a year on horseback.

I left the family business to devote more time into my development in horse training. As building a better ranch horse was a quest that took me towards learning more about performance horses and competitions.

In 2006 I had the privellege of winning the competition as a member of the Canadian Ranch Roping  Championship Team.

Our main focus on the ranch is working directly with clients to develop the communincation between their horse and their riding skills to bring out a strong leadership and foundation for any discipline the horse is inclined towards. Either for pleasure or competition.

As an ambassador to the equine industry as a trainer and competitor, it is my hopes that more riders develop to become better horsemen; to facilitate awareness of local Alberta breeding ranches and to help to create better horses for pleasure, competion and sale.
